Designed for those working or wanting to work within education, youth work or the youth justice system, this course provides you with the knowledge you need to respond appropriately to challenging behaviour. The course teaches the skills to communicate with young people effectively, how to help them deal with any issues, and how to improve their behaviour in a confident and constructive manner. We look at a range of child behaviour management techniques that you may wish to use in your setting or at home. If you want to gain new skills, improve your CV, and succeed in working or living with those with behavioural issues, then you should definitely consider taking this course.
With all Continuum courses, you have the help and support of tutors that want you to succeed in your studies. Not everyone likes to communicate through email or web support, so we offer the unique service of telephone tutorials. You can actually talk the course through with your tutor, or get an extra hand with a specific area or module. Your tutor will also be able to provide you with unlimited online email support to help answer any questions that you may have whilst you are studying the course. We want you to achieve!
At the end of each module, students are required to undergo an interactive online assessment to access the retention of the knowledge they have just learnt. This is helps us track your progress and highlight any area which you may wish to gain extra support from your tutor.
Following all the course modules, a final assessment test of 10 questions covering all module topics must be completed. This final assessment is used to ascertain whether you have met the required standard of learning to gain the certificate. The test is fully interactive and marked instantaneously, allowing you to know whether you have passed the course.
Don’t worry of you don’t pass first time, you can retake the assessment as many time as you need at no extra charge, and remember, your course tutor will support and help you through the process if required.
The Managing challenging behaviour course requires 30 hours of learning to complete, however this is just a guide and will depend on individual ability to absorb and retain information. As with all e-learning, it is flexible and you can work at your own pace. Learners will have access for 1 year from starting the course. Extensions are available upon request.
